Where we are

Between Pisa and Florence in the south, just in the west of the city of Volterra, there is the village of Lajatico. A village, to whose community the Podere "Colle All'Asino" belongs and which looks back at an over thousand-year history.

The Podere "Colle All`Asino" is about a ten minutes drive from Lajatico. There are two bars, various shops and a bakery with fresh bread, there are also "pizza al taglio", pizza to go, and several smaller restaurants.

20 minutes walk from the house, in the small village of San Giovanni in the restaurant "Il Villaggio", you can enjoy a huge and wafer-thin, typical Tuscan pizza.

If you want to do more at short notice, you can drive to nearby Volterra.

Volterra with the unique medieval town hall has a special charm in every season. Impressive are the everywhere visible Etruscan origins of the city and the Roman excavations.
There are numerous bars, ice cream parlors, trattorias and fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
Or do you want to have a trip on Saturdays on the big market, with fresh vegetables, household items, clothes and last but not least, all sorts of culinary delights such as wild boar panini, fried vegetables and croquettes to strengthen?
